16th Commemoration of Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security (ADFNS) and 21st CAADP Partnership Platform

The 16th Commemoration of Africa Day for Food and Nutrition Security (ADFNS) will be held in Kigali, Rwanda, from October 29-31, 2025. This event, jointly organized by the African Union Commission, AUDA-NEPAD, and other partners, will focus on addressing food and nutrition challenges in the context of the climate crisis. The ADFNS aims to create a platform for stakeholders to discuss solutions and recommendations for food and nutrition security in Africa.
The commemoration will address key themes such as success stories and policy lessons learned in food security and trade, the intersection of nutrition, food security, and trade, and the progress of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP). The event will also emphasize the need for strengthening capacity, promoting intra-African agricultural trade, and leveraging partnerships to achieve sustainable food systems.
Ultimately, the ADFNS serves as a crucial platform to accelerate progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to food security and nutrition in Africa.
